During the meeting<br \/>\nrepresentatives of state agencies, international organisations, national and international experts discuss<br \/>\nissues of rational and effective use of the water resources.<br \/>\nThis particular dialogue was aimed at presenting the results of pilot testing of basin planning<br \/>\nprinciples in one of the irrigation system pilot sites of the Murgab river basin- Cepekyab. The pilot testing<br \/>\nwas carried out by water experts in 2013. The state representatives, farmers, national and international<br \/>\norganisations participated in the meeting.<br \/>\nThe major goal of this dialogue was to present the main outcomes of the pilot testing and to<br \/>\ndiscuss its further application in the water management practices in Turkmenistan. Moreover, during the<br \/>\ndialogue experts introduced the approaches used in testing &#8211; the methodology of problem prioritisation<br \/>\nand problem tree preparation. These tools could possibly be applied further in management of other<br \/>\nriver basins in Turkmenistan.<br \/>\nThis dialogue is one of the activities implemented by GIZ TWMCA Programme in the framework of<br \/>\nthe EU-funded action \u201cWater Management and Basin Organisations in Central Asia (WMBOCA)\u201d.<br \/>\nTWMCA also conducted technical trainings on geographic information system (GIS) for specialists of<br \/>\nwater management organisations in the city of Mary within the framework WMBOCA. GIS equipment<br \/>\nwas purchased and handed over to partner organisations as technical support.<br \/>\n\u201cWater Management and Basin Organisations in Central Asia (WMBOCA)\u201d is funded by the<br \/>\nEuropean Union and implemented by <a href=\"http:\/\/giz.de\">Deutsche Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ)<\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/giz.de\"> GmbH <\/a>acting in partnership with the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC).
