Representatives of water sector and related agencies, specialists from basin<br \/>\norganizations of the Isfara river from Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan, as well as experts took part in the event.<br \/>\nThe participants presented the main results of legal and institutional framework analysis for basin<br \/>\nplanning; economic and social development of the territory; climate change analysis and adaptation to<br \/>\nclimate change; emergency situation, natural disasters and environment conditions; results of<br \/>\ndevelopment of land use map and land and water resources analysis for the Isfara river basin.<br \/>\nEvery aspect of the complex assessment and analysis of the situation in the basin was<br \/>\ndiscussed after the presentations, thus, besides of receiving information, the participants of the meeting<br \/>\ncould ask questions and make suggestions.<br \/>\nBased on the results of the discussion, the working group developed plan of next actions on basin<br \/>\nplanning for the Isfara river, in particular, on prioritization of the problems in the basin, which later is to<br \/>\nbe included into basin plan.<br \/>\nMeetings of working group on basin planning have been held since 2012 in the framework of \u201cWater<br \/>\nManagement and Basin Organizations in Central Asia (WMBOCA)\u201d project. This project is funded by the<br \/>\nEuropean Union and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ)<br \/>\nGmbH acting in partnership with the Regional Environmental Centre for Central Asia (CAREC).
