The event was supported by the GIZ regional programme \u201c<em>Transboundary Water Management in Central Asia<\/em>\u201d.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">The seminar was attended by over 50 specialists representating local authorities, self-government bodies of citizens of water management organizations, departments and experts from the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Kyrgyz Republic and the Republic of Tajikistan.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">Regional experts and representatives of international organizations gave presentations on water cooperation and transboundary water use, the impact of climate change on water resources, international experience in managing and protecting water resources.<\/span><\/p>\r\n<p class=\"p1\" style=\"text-align: justify;\"><span style=\"font-family: helvetica, arial, sans-serif; font-size: 10pt;\">Moreover, representatives of water management organizations exchanged views and discussed issues related to joint water use in the Ferghana Valley between the border regions of Uzbekistan, Kyrgyz Republic and Tajikistan. The seminar was held in a friendly atmosphere in the spirit of traditional good neighborliness and mutual understanding.
